About

“Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul.”
—Carl Jung, psychologist and author

Compassionate trauma therapist Gavin Versi, who is certified in Brainspotting.

Gavin Versi (He/Him/His), MA, LMFTA, ASAT Candidate

Born to biracial parents in Oxford, United Kingdom, I attended the University of Cambridge. Midway through my studies, I began writing for The Sunday Telegraph newspaper. At age 24, I became the agent of a world No.1-ranked tennis player. By the end of my 20s, I had traveled the world and lived on three continents.

But something was missing. It was when I started a third career, a corporate job in Memphis, that I became overwhelmed by anxiety and began searching for answers. Very little could provide me with joy; I felt like I was going through the motions. The pain of inaction became greater than the fear of change, so I took a risk and contacted a therapist. Little did I know that I was about to embark on the journey of a lifetime!

The therapy I participated in was somatic, meaning that I was asked to notice sensations in my body in addition to talking about my problems. Within six months, I resolved to become a therapist myself. I took my time, first volunteering for 18 months as a caregiver to Cambodian children in Thailand, while studying Attachment Theory.

All the while, I was experiencing transformational benefits from therapy, including a huge decline in anxiety, improved relationships, and a capacity to navigate difficult experiences that I never imagined.

Further training in somatic experiential therapy, Brainspotting, and Trauma-Informed Care followed, and then I worked as a recovery coach. I completed a Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy at Seattle University. My internship, at Reflections Counseling in North Bend, WA, provided me with the opportunity to work with infants, children, adolescents, individual adults, couples, and families, both online and in-person. I also tapped into my experience in the business world by working as an executive coach.

Today, as the owner of Healing Washington, I draw on my extensive training, as well as my own healing experiences, to support clients in their growth journeys.

I enjoy travel, meditation, baking, fitness, movies, and sports.
